Tribus signs a zero-emission public transport agreement.
On May 31, 32 municipalities and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management signed an administrative agreement in which they agreed that their public transport for people with a dissabilty, will be zero emission from 2025 onwards. The agreement is set up for people who, due to a physical or mental disability, can not travel on their own temporarily or chronically. The working group came together during the Move Up conference in the Rijtuigenloods in Amersfoort to sign the agreement.
Stientje van Veldhoven, State Secretary for Infrastructure and Water Management, also received a covenant, signed by a large number of market suppliers, in addition to the administrative agreement. The aim of the agreement is that all parties will work together to realize the actual application of zero-emission vehicles. A covenant has also been signed by suppliers who demonstrate their commitment to the development of zero-emission vehicles. Tribus is a part of this beautiful initiative. Our E-Mobility Manager Erik Henneken was present at this special moment and showed his commitment on behalf of Tribus by signing the covenant.
The administrative agreement is a powerful signal to the entire sector. It offers clarity to all parties, reducing the risks of investing in zero-emission public transport. In the accompanying covenant parties from the sector commit their commitment to support the joint ambition with actions. Municipalities that signed are Public Transport Groningen Drenthe (on behalf of 21 municipalities), Zwolle, Amsterdam, The Hague, Region Drechtsteden (7 municipalities) and Hoorn. Other participants are carriers, suppliers of vehicles and charging infrastructure, the VNG and the GNMI, KNV Taxi, the united network operators, Nature & Environment, and knowledge organizations.
