At RETTmobil 2023, Tribus met Köhler Transfer, a company specializing in transporting people with disabilities. Their request for a flexible and accessible vehicle resulted in a custom wheelchair bus featuring TriflexAIR technology and ISOFIX seats. The vehicle combines safety, accessibility, and ease of use. Tribus is proud to contribute to barrier-free mobility in Germany and beyond.

Recently, we delivered a Civitas Economy L3H3 to the beautiful German island of Fehmarn, located in the Baltic Sea. This low-floor bus is perfectly tailored to the needs of the island and the important role of the Bürgerbus Association Fehmarn:

Community bus associations in Germany, known locally as Bürgerbus, are volunteer-driven transportation initiatives. They play a crucial role in providing mobility in rural and hard-to-reach areas. They connect people to local services, reduce social isolation, and contribute to an inclusive society.

And let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to take a ride after seeing these photos?

We are proud to announce that we recently delivered 40 Civitas Economy low-floor buses to VIA in Berlin. These modern, fully accessible buses play a key role in the flexible on-demand mobility services of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), enabling smooth and comfortable transport for all Berliners. The low-floor buses are used as replacement transport, giving passengers access to public transit even on difficult-to-reach routes, whenever and wherever they need it.

Why the Civitas Economy Low-Floor Bus is Perfect for On-Demand Mobility:

• The wheelchair restraint system is user-friendly, allowing wheelchair users to be secured quickly and safely for a worry-free journey.

With the Civitas Economy, we showcase what innovative mobility looks like:

We recently built and delivered a Civitas Economy to Bürgerbus-Verein Wildeshausen. This wheelchair-accessible low-floor bus will serve as a Bürgerbus, a small-scale public transport service primarily operated by volunteers. It focuses on improving mobility for residents, particularly the elderly and those with limited mobility. The Bürgerbus also complements regular public transportation by serving hard-to-reach areas.

The Civitas Economy is ideal for this purpose, offering space for 1 wheelchair passenger and 8 seated passengers. It can be operated with a regular driver’s license (category B), making it accessible for volunteer drivers.

The spacious design allows for easy maneuvering of the wheelchair, and the bus is equipped with the integrated TriflexAIR Flooring and Seating System, ensuring that any driver can safely secure a wheelchair with ease.

We are honored to have played a small part by providing TriflexAIR seats for wheelchair accessible vehicles in collaboration with Groupe Gruau. These vehicles will transport wheelchair users during the event.
